Pressing Pause on Expanding our Family

In September, Dom and I decided to start the fertility process again to grow our beautiful family. Many of you know we conceived Donovan in January 2020 through IUI. While the process was challenging, we’ve learned a lot and felt ready to take this next step.

Last month, I had a procedure called a hysterosalpingogram (HSG). During the HSG, a dye is injected into the uterus and fallopian tubes to check for any blockages and clear out any debris, a process sometimes called “flushing” the tubes. Unfortunately, both of my tubes are now blocked, so our next step is meeting with the doctor to discuss our options.

However, Dom and I have decided to pause all fertility-related steps until after the election. In Florida, abortions are restricted after six weeks unless they meet specific exceptions, including risks to the mother’s life or cases of rape, incest, or human trafficking with proper documentation. This November, there’s an amendment on the ballot that could protect a woman’s right to make these personal decisions with her healthcare provider, allowing care when needed before viability or to protect her health.

While I pray I never face a life-threatening situation, I want to make an informed choice, guided by the results of this election. This ballot holds my family’s future—not just for expanding it, but also for the choices I may need to make for my own health.

I’m not asking you to vote just for me, but for every woman whose life and family depend on these decisions. When you vote, remember that it’s not just for you. It’s about giving people the ability to make the choices that are right for their lives.

This version maintains your voice and message, encouraging readers to consider the broader impact of their vote with empathy and clarity. Let me know if there’s anything more you’d like to add or adjust!
