Every day the sun won’t shine, but that’s why I love tomorrow

For the past eight months, Dom and I have established a ritual of rating each week, from one to ten, every Sunday. Initially, this practice served as a means to review the week gone by and set intentions for the upcoming one. In the beginning, my ratings tended to hover around an average of five or six. However, a pivotal moment occurred when Dom posed a simple question: “What could have made it a ten?” It prompted deep reflection, leading me to realize that perhaps I had been overly critical of my weeks. I had missed the true essence of the exercise, which was not to nitpick but to cultivate gratitude for the lessons learned and experiences gained.

Now, before assigning a score each week, I take the time to appreciate the positives and consider how I can best prepare for what lies ahead. This week, my focus is on embracing the journey of acquiring new knowledge at work. I am immensely grateful for the opportunities presented to expand my skills and understanding. Despite anticipating a demanding workload and inevitable challenges, I eagerly anticipate the opportunity for self-reflection come Sunday.
