Trusting the Journey

Trusting in the journey of life has been a transformative lesson for me, especially as someone who used to be consumed by worry. If you know me, you know I’m a bit of a worry bug. I used to plan backups for backups, fearing that things might fall through if I didn’t control every aspect. This excessive worrying led to anger, shutdowns, and anxiety when things didn’t go as planned.

But three years ago, I made a conscious decision to release my grip on control. I realized that while it’s important to work hard and treat others with kindness, I also needed to surrender to God’s guidance. I learned to go with the flow (at least sometimes) and trust that God’s plan is greater than my own.

Scripture has been a guiding light on this journey:

Proverbs 3:5-6 (NIV): “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” This verse reminds me to trust in God’s plan, even when I can’t see the whole picture.

Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV): “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Trusting in God’s plans brings peace and assurance, knowing that He has good things in store for me.

Romans 8:28 (NIV): “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” Even when things don’t go according to my plans, I trust that God is working everything out for my ultimate good.

Through prayer and seeking God’s will for my life, I’ve found freedom from the burden of control. I’ve learned to find joy in the journey, even during the lowest points. Life is a journey, and I’m learning to embrace it fully, knowing that what’s meant for me will never pass me by.

I want to encourage you to trust in the process of your own journey. Find happiness in every moment, knowing that God is in control and His plans for you are perfect.
