I’m Pregnant During COIVD-19

It’s been a while since I’ve wrote my last post and so many things have transpired. If you can’t tell by the title… I’m pregnant! As of today, I’m on the tail end of my 2nd trimester of 25 weeks or 6 months. My husband and I are so excited and are ready for baby boy to join our little family.

Soooooooooo, this pregnancy has been full of surprises but the biggest concern is trying to protect myself from the biggest global health pandemic in decades — COVID 19. Thankfully I’ve been able to work from home since March, so I’m spent most of pregnancy basically on “bedrest” or telecommuting. I will be honest… it is not my ideal situation, I’m an extrovert at heart but I’m thankful to have a career where I’m able to work completely remotely.

Besides trying to avoid contacting the virus, my husband and I are dealing with the fact that he has not been allowed to come to any of my appointments. Because of the virus I’ve went to all of my appointments alone and facetimed him just for him to be included. IT SUCKS! It’s our first (and maybe last child) and we have not been able to completely enjoy it together.

COVID-19 has also robbed us of having an in-person gender revel, baby shower, had us cancel our babymoon to New Orleans and is even forcing us to deliver without any family or friends. With us having a difficult infertility journey, we at least anticipated having a normal pregnancy and being able to celebrate all things pregnancy but clearly God had other plans.

Earlier this week, I grieved the lost of all those moments we were robbed of and pushed past it. I decided to take a social media break and focus my attention on reading more daily devotions, more prayer, nesting and spending time with my husband.

I pray that if you are anxious and worried during this time, that God gives you the peace and strength you need.

The Lord will keep you from all harm – he will watch over your life; the Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore. – Psalms 121:7

XOXO,

Adriane
