Four Things I Learned On My Social Media Break

So, if you read my last blog post you know I went on a social media break. And now that I’m back I must tell ya’ll 4 things I learned while being away for 3 weeks. I know you are saying “Sis you been back over a week now.” Yes, I know, but I was celebrating my anniversary living my best life in the Dominican with my future baby daddy. Sipping lots of adult drinks and getting two shades darker.

While I was out I thought I was going to read lots of books, work out more and do more adulting. Now I did deep clean my house and fold the clothes right from the dryer, but I didn’t do any of that other stuff. I’m just being real. Being honest with yourself makes a difference. TRUST!

The 4 things I learned…

  1. I realized, I have slept on Ariana Grande’s music. SLEPT on it! I started listening to her first album which was written mostly by Babyface and your girl has been listening to a few of songs on repeat ever since.
  2. I discovered Terell on youtube. THEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE joy this Youtube channel gives me. WHEW Lord! He even occasionally goes into a full-blown shout and chilllle sometimes you have to give him praise right where you are.
  3. Your health is more sensitive than you know. I was diagnosed with a few things while I was out and yes, I plan to share it in a future blog post. But for now, I will say… go to the doctor and even if nothing is wrong, ask for full panel blood work. TRUST ME! You will thank me later.
  4. I struggle with being ratchet and being saved by grace. I don’t know if that makes sense to you but let’s just say, it’s hard to move past the ratchetness.

I said all those things that don’t matter, to say “Sometimes you discover things you never thought you could do or would like, when your temporary pull yourself away from things that influence your thought making process.” I encourage you to take some time away from unhealthy things, that take up too much of your time. Take a mental health day from work. Never leave the bed on a Saturday morning. Curl up and read a good book. Call a good listening friend and talk for hours. Or if you are like me, just a hiatus from social media. The time is needed to refresh, believe me you won’t regret it.

Keep encouraging one another! 😊
